Westerleigh Group is one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries. Our portfolio currently consists of 40 crematoria, of which 30 we have built.

Our purpose is to provide exceptional care in a beautiful setting, so families can remember, mourn and celebrate the lives of their loved ones in a way that is uniquely personal to them.

Our facilities and approach are designed to offer flexibility, choice and inclusivity to the local communities that we serve – reflective of the cultural diversity of which they comprise. We take great pride in delivering the highest standards of service and support to local funeral directors and bereaved families. Westerleigh Group owns some of the most eco-friendly crematoria in the UK. This ethos is reflected in the design of our sites, the technology we use and even the we maintain our grounds to maximise biodiversity.

Our commitment to environmental responsibility sets us apart as one of the most environmentally friendly operators in the UK. We prioritise sustainability by investing in cutting-edge filtration and abatement technology, including a fully abated system with NOx abatement - an innovative feature adopted by only a select few new crematoria. The cremation process itself is designed to be 'clean to air,' ensuring no smoke or odours are released through the cremator flue.

To further reduce our carbon footprint, we incorporate cremator heat recovery systems and employ various low-energy features throughout our new facilities. Our new sites also include a sustainable drainage system and the integration of electric vehicle charging infrastructure which demonstrates our dedication to a greener future.

In harmony with nature, we enhance existing wildlife habitats and create new ones, fostering biodiversity within our premises. Extensive areas of wildflower, native shrub, and woodland planting showcase our commitment to promoting natural habitats and enriching the surrounding ecosystem. Our ethos and operational practices are centred on minimising energy consumption, maximising recycling, and encouraging biodiversity, aligning with our deep-rooted environmental values.
