Remembering mothers at Westerleigh Group’s crematoria
Westerleigh Group’s crematoria are marking Mother’s Day with a number of different events and activities to enable families to commemorate the lives of their loved ones.
Westerleigh Group is the UK’s largest owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 37 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.
All its sites are inviting local families to visit and pay tribute to their mothers or mother figures either in the run up to, or on, Mother’s Day on Sunday 19 March.
Some crematoria are offering opportunities for families to share quiet moments of reflection and remembrance in a suitable setting, whereas others will have tags and pebbles on which personal messages can be written, and then placed on the loved one’s memorial or taken home.
And some sites will have flowers that can be used in a similar way.
The group’s Chief Executive Officer, Debbie Smith, said: “Mother’s Day can be a particularly poignant time for those who have lost their mum or mother-figure, or for mothers who have been bereaved of a child.
“We are inviting local families to visit us during this period to have a moment of reflection and contemplation within our beautiful grounds.
“We hope that visiting us will bring comfort to anyone who needs it during this special time of the year.”
